Protective / Surgical Masks

Surgical masks are loose-fitting, disposable masks that cover the nose and mouth. These include products labeled as protective, dental, medical procedure, isolation, and laser masks.

Health professionals wear surgical masks to prevent the transfer of bacteria from their noses and mouths during surgery or when attending to vulnerable patients. Protective masks are also offered in clinics and urgent care facilities to help prevent the spread of communicable disease from person to person. Protective masks are appropriate for all general patient care situations, EMS or field operating personnel.

Protective masks are also worn by people with allergies during hay fever months to protect themselves from pollen inhalation.
